Alumdum Balls are a very dense untreated catalyst with extremely high thermal shock.

Alumdum Balls will add more life to your catalyst because it acts as a buffer zone to preheat the incoming air-gas mixture. A 6 - 8" layer should be placed at the point of the incoming air-gas mixture where the heating zone starts.
